HERE ARE SOME
THAT HIGHLIGHT MY TECHNICAL SKILL
VIDEO #1:
MEET THE FAMILY
VIDEO #1: PRODUCER, WRITER, SOLE EDITOR, CAMERA OPERATOR →

STRENGTHS:

ON A WRITING/ PRODUCTION LEVEL: First things first, I realize the subject matter of this video is vastly different than that covered by ___________, but here’s how my background translates to being a strong member of your team: I personally pitched and created this series to my boss and clients without any direction. I researched our target audience independently, developed the concept for the series, and flew to Florida to meet with our small film team to lay down the vision for the series in time for our scheduled shoot during the national competition. During the shoot, I conducted athlete interviews accordingly, as well as created designated shot-lists for myself and our other drone/ camera operators-- so I knew exactly how to stitch that story together on a Premiere timeline once I got back. What made this video successful was the clear storytelling concept--it’s all about the vision, baby!
-
ON AN EDITING LEVEL: My decision to choose this video was to highlight my technical skill, my advanced proficiency of the Adobe Creative Suite, and my ability to execute post-production in accordance to information gathered from SEO analytics. Also an example of some of my graphic motion work.

CHANGES: What I would change about this video is the length of it-- I think it’s a little long for content used essentially as a promo.
VIDEO #2:
HUMAN
VIDEO #2: WRITTEN, PRODUCED, SHOT, AND EDITED ENTIRELY INDEPENDENTLY →
-
STRENGTHS: This video is the beginning sequence to a documentary series that started off as a personal project, then was pitched to Impulse Magazine and picked up by them to then give me an 8-page spread in their S/S ’17 issue. The video’s mission statement is clear: the whole world is filled with stories to be told, and I’ve dedicated my life’s ambitions to telling those stories artistically, passionately, and uniquely. Besides illustrating my clear artistic vision and passion for the industry, the strengths of this video lie in its visuals. The visuals strong are clean yet edgy; they are structured meticulously to progress with the beat of its music soundtrack, and embody an avant-garde aesthetic that still appeals to the mainstream. All in all, the writing/ production/ editing on this project was done independently, and--like Video #1-- was a concept I came up with on my own. Constantly coming up with new ideas and pitching/ executing series flows through my blood now, and it is an asset that translates to becoming a member of the ___________ team precisely.
-
CHANGES: What I would change about this video is, without the doubt, the audio mixing. This video is a few years old at this point, and back in the day I didn’t know as much about audio mixing as I do now, so there are points in the video where the music soundtrack drowns out my voiceover (hence the necessity to add subtitles after the fact-- couldn’t finesse the sound even if I wanted to, since I lost the original Premiere files with an old laptop crash. I now back up all my files onto a minimum of three different external drives/ cloud devices, lol). Looking at this video now, the voiceover complications kill me because the video is, otherwise, a polished piece of work.
VIDEO #3:
DAY OFF
BRYCE TRYON'S
VIDEO #3: PRODUCER, WRITER, SOLE EDITOR, CAMERA OPERATOR →
-
STRENGTHS: This video stars pro BMX rider Bryce Tryon, in a video inspired by Ferris Bueller's Day Off for a feature piece I worked on for BMXRidin.com. This project showcases my ability to work with a team to develop concepts for new content, to work and connect with higher profile talent, to direct on-air talent accordingly, to write scripts, and to tell a story visually. How this work would translate to projects I would be put onto with ___________ is the background in collaborating, pitching, scripting, producing, shooting and editing I bring as a strong asset to the table. This video is strong because it was conceptualized and edited in accordance to our target audience, reflects the true nature of the talent/ sport accurately, and has strong visuals that were edited to match the beat of the music soundtrack. Also an example of some of my graphic motion work.

CHANGES: If I'm being entirely honest, I thought the delivery of lines by our on-air talent made this video just a little bit cheesy. If I could shoot this all over again, I would have directed the talent to recite their lines more naturally.
